Heart of America Mini-PLUS

Welcome

Thanks for visiting the Heart of America Mini-PLUS (HAM-PLUS) website. This will be the first Mini held in the Kansas City area, and is open to all Christmas decorating enthusiasts, with an emphasis on computer controlled light displays.

 HAM-PLUS a Success

 A big thank you to all 32 participants to the first Mini-PLUS in the KC area. And thanks to the great vendors who donated awesome door prizes. Those prizes and all the winners are listed under the Door Prize tab on this site.

 We also want to acknowledge the attendance and presentation by Walter and Jackie Monkhouse. If you haven't seen their Portable Hole or JUMP, you need to. Check it all out on their website, MagicChristmas.org. They drove all the way from Alexandria, LA, which, according to Google maps is 672 miles one way. What a great contribution to the weekend.

 And not only did Walter and Jackie honor us with their presence, they brought presents too. 

This weekend would not have been a success without the support of Red Robin Restaurants at 95th & Metcalf, who let us use their party room for our Red Cup Social, attended by 15 participants. And then the great venue at McKeever's Price Chopper in Lenexa, to hold the actual Mini on Saturday. What a great space for both the displays and the conference room with the flat screen monitor and hook-ups that enhanced our presentations.

 We appreciate the feedback from participants who have posted comments on the PC Forums website. We value your input so that the next HAM-PLUS can be even better.

Events

 The weekend will begin with a Red Cup Social on Friday, August 7, 7-9pm, at the Red Robin Restaurant at 95th & Metcalf in Overland Park, KS. 

Then on Saturday, the actual Mini will begin with registration/greet and meet at 9am and the official program kicking off at 10am. We expect to wrap up the day around 5pm, depending on the volume of open discussion. This event will be held at McKeever's Price Chopper in Lenexa, KS

Participant Fee

There will be a $5 per participant fee to cover drinks and munchies on the day of the mini, plus miscellaneous supplies. Participants will be responsible for any expenses at the Red Cup Social on Friday. For lunch on Saturday, there is a full deli and salad bar available in the Price Chopper with each participant able to purchase their own specially ordered meal.

In order for us to plan for your participation, and have enough food, please go to the Contact Us page and enter the information requested. Your fee may be paid at the door on August 8.
